Abstract :
The aim of this research is to compare percentage yield of 2-[2-(4-methoxyphenyl)-vinyl]-benzo[1,3]oxazin-4-one which reaction time was 1 hour, 3 hours, and 6 hours, using anthranilic acid and p-methoxycinnamoyl chloride as starting material and benzene as solvent under temprature of ± 80-90º C. The products were identified using TLC and melting point determination, UV-Vis spectrophotometry, IR spectrophotometry, 1H-NMR spectrometry inform that the product appropriate with structure of 2-[2-(4-methoxyphenyl)-vinyl]-benzo[1,3]oxazin-4-one. The percentage yield of product from the above reaction are 9.20%; 20.19%; and 21.57% yield for 1 hour, 3 hours, and 6 hours, respectively. The statistical analysis inform that there is no significant difference percentage yield between 3 hours and 6 hours reaction time. And there is significant difference percentage yield between 1 hour and two other reaction time.
